FRIDAY OCTOBER TENTH 2025 (Leaving ASP) and Saturday the 11th
We all got up early today and started packing up. I think both Leslie and Maggie had a head start on me. I think it was a little after ten when the cars were both packed up. Leslie took a couple pictures of Maggie and I standing on the front porch of our cottage. This is the ONLY picture from today.
Maggie took the wheel and I took the map and we drove north through toe park into Salamanca. We took back roads for a while until we got to 219, which took us north to 20 and 78. We stopped at Maggie's favorite hot dog place ZORBA'S(I think maybe in Lancaster) and had hot dogs, fries, onion rings and drinks. I spent the rest of the day unpacking and putting stuff away, working on my Flickr account and this blog. I returned a call from Mary Shaw, about the change in the date for starting the MOVERS and MAKERS group. I called the director of the Barker Seniors and ordered my "catered lunch" for the Octoberfest which will the on the same day as the first session of the Movers nd Makers at the Y. I will be a little late arriving in Barker.
Saturday the llth:
I got up early to get ready for Ron Grout's funeral. It was at ten a.m. and was well attended. After the funeral, the family and probably some others went to the gravesite and then there was a nice meal put on by the new (younger) team of ladies who make up the MEALS team. I sat at a table with David and Peggy, Glenda, Lori, Elizabeth and Elaine. I stopped at Niagara Produce before going home, and picked up he groceries I need.
I reheated my leftover RIBEYE STEAK leftover from Allegany and it was delicious. I also had a baked acorn squash for supper.
In the evening, I decided to see if NETFLIX would let me in. It did (I do not have a membership) and I found the movie SIX TRIPLE EIGHT, which was very good.
During WWII, the only US Women's Army Corps unit of color stationed overseas takes on an impossible mission in Tyler Perry's drama based on a true story.
