WEEK of Sunday, April 19th through Saturday April 25th, 2026
Sunday: I had to drive around the church parking lot, for fifteen, or maybe 20 minutes before I found a parking spot. I was very frustrated and starting to get very upset. It is absolutely ridiculous to have all the cars from the first service still in the parking lot when car/people are arriving for the second service. It would not be a big deal to change the beginning time of the second service eleven a.m. instead of ten forty five. But nobody important in the church seems to notice or care. It was worse today because there were so many more people in church today, maybe friends and relatives of people who were being baptized. Church was good, with an excellent sermon. Glenda, Carol and I went to APPLEBEE's for lunch. I used the gift certificate I got for giving blood. I stopped at PANERA to get a drink and as a "reward" I was able to get a free pastry, so I got a cinnamon bun, which I ate when I got ho.
MONDAY: I got up early to go to a dermatology appointment, but even before I started to get ready, I got an automated message telling me that unfortunately, my appointment is cancelled and I should call and reschedule. I had my appointment with Dr. Chubineh and also picked up a prescription at WalGreens. Peggy came over in the afternoon and worked upstairs.
TUESDAY: Life Group was very good. I did not go out to lunch with the others because of my plans to go to SOLID ROCK for spaghetti later on. I went home and had a light lunch and took a nap after picking up more branches in the back yard.
When I got up from my nap, I decided to clean the mud off of the bottom of my shoes so I took them, along with a wet rag out on the front porch to do that. While I was doing that, I heard a kid crying as if his heart was breaking. I told myself that as soon as I got my shoes back on, I would try to find the kid and help. Then a huge dog ran up my driveway, followed shortly by the little boy about seven years old. He told me that he was unable to grab the dog and when the dog ran out to the street, I offered to call someone for the boy. He gave me his mothers phone number and I called and left a message. By time I was done with that, the dog and boy were on my front porch. I offered to find something that might make it possible for him to hold onto the dog, and went inside and grabbed a sash to one of my sweaters and took it out. He put part of it around the dogs neck and held on to the two ends and started walking away, after he told me "THANKS". A few minutes later, his mother called to thank me.
Lori arrived on time and I drove us to Gasport for the spaghetti dinner. We met up with Jan and her son, Mike. Erica Joan was there and I suggested she join us. Becky was also there, and so was Andrea with the twins. We had a nice time. I asked Lori if she wanted to come in for a movie, but she declined since she has been out of the house all day and wanted to get home.
When Lori arrived, I drove us to SR. We met up with Jan and her son, Michael and sat with them. Erica Joan was there and she joined us. Andrea was there with the twins and Becky was also there. We had a nice meal
WEDNESDAY: this was our last session of MOVERS and MAKERS. I got phone numbers from the other participants and Denise and hopefully, we will get together from time to time. When Movers was over, Dr. Nik announced that Mary Shaw will be getting in touch with each of to set a time to have an evaluation done, and we can get a copy of our personal evaluations if we want. Also, there will be a luncheon held at the Lockport Y or perhaps another location. Here are some pictures from today.
As soon as M and M was over, Andrea, Lori and I headed out to Barker. We paid for our lunch and signed up for the next lunch and found seats. Karen and Frank were not there, most likely they are resting up from their recent trip. The live music was very good.
Lunch today was very good, boneless BBQ pork ribs on a wheat roll, pork and beans and coleslaw. Andrea and I volunteered to come early to the next Barker Seniors meeting to help set up and greet members as they sign in. After Andrea dropped Lori and I off at the Y, Lori and I agreed to meet up at my house at six p.m to go to the North Ridge church for supper. I tried to take a nap when I got home, but I had some Dr. Pepper (from Panera) this morning because I felt so sleepy before leaving home. So, I did rest or a while and then I got up and did a few things.
Lori and I went to the North Ridge United Methodist Church for their donation dinner. It was chicken, salad, potatoes, vegetables and desert. It was a very good meal. We stopped at the THREE SISTERS GARLIC shop, but it was closed. I found the movie IRONWEED on Pluto TV. It has Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson in it (1987). It is about two drunks struggling to survive after the depression.

THURSDAY the 23rd I went to AAA and picked up some information about PA Dutch Country and the Adirondacks, went to a place where I could vacuum my car out. I then met Jan at the Y and we walked the track and then we found the location of LUNCH and LEARN. However, the instructor did not show up. Tammy tried to reach him by phone, but was not successful. Deb and I decided to go to WENDY'S for lunch. We both had the four dollar burger and fries and a free senior drink. I worked on getting ready to go to Auburn and Oneonta before taking a nap, and then I continued. I called Leslie in the evening to confirm that I will leave in the morning for Auburn. She said she is going crazy trying to make her apartment liveable.
FRIDAY: drive to Auburn, taking my time, Pictures I took:
I noticed this small cemetery and stopped to take a couple of pictures.
Maybe I can find out the name of the cemetery on FINDAGRAVE
I had lunch at TOM WAHL'S
this mural is in SENECA FALLS.
Arrived around four p.m. and unloaded stuff. Then Leslie and I talked for a bit and debated what to do about supper. We checked out a couple of places that offered fish, but did not like the looks of them. We ended up t this buffet, which was pretty good.
SATURDAY: Packed a lunch and headed to SENNETT for a rummage sale. It was not very good, but I got a book and a blue top that I think will fit.
The sale was at the Sennett Federated .Church, and this is a picture of a model of the church that I saw
Then to Skaneateles to go to the library so I could use the wifi, mostly to check email, since the library in Auburn is closed. We at our packed lunch in the car. We went to the Skaneateles Museum, but the half of the museum devoted to the history of Skaneateles was closed for renovations. We took a guided tour of the side that was open that had to do with boats and boating. We returned to Auburn to go to The Cayuga Museum of History and Art. And our last stop was at WILLARD CHAPEL to see the stained glass windows.
The chapel is no longer used as a chapel, but every inch of it is beautiful. Lots of mosaic inlaid tile, etc. I took several pictures. Leslie provided supper of rotisserie chicken, etc.
