May 30, 2018 I AM HOME

I slept very well in the Super 8 in Erie, PA.  I went out to the breakfast bar and toasted a bagel, grabbed some cream cheese and jelly, some orange juice and ate breakfast in my room.   I showered and packed up and I think I left around 9:45 a.m.   I got off 90 at one of the exits near the border of PA and NY, but I was not sure which state I was in.  I filled up with gas and headed on my way.  I stopped at the rest area in Angola to use the rest room and continued on.   I decided to NOT continue on 90 as far as I could, but I do not recall where exactly I got off.  At any rate, I found myself on Union Road in West Seneca when I saw a PAULA's DONUTS which I had never been to.  So I stopped and had a donut and a small bottle of skim milk.   I think I arrived home around 2:30 or so.  Oh, I stopped at Wendy's in Lockport and purchased a salad for my supper.  It is good to be home.

Heading Home from Michigan..................

I left a little before eight a.m.. I took a couple of pictures in Plainwell: I topped off my gas tank south of Plainwell, and I left a painted rock someplace in Michigan, but I cannot recall where:     I drove south into the corner of Indiana, where I got mixed up and could not figure out how to get to I-90.  I finally gave up and headed into Ohio, where I was able to get onto it easily enough.  I saw this before I got on 90 (in Columbia, Ohio) I got off of 90 for about a half an hour in order to look for a geocache.  I was surprised at the location (behind the office of a motel).  Now I have one cache find in Ohio. At a SERVICE AREA on 90 in Ohio, I had lunch at a Hardee's.  I left two more rocks one if Ohio and one in Pennsylvania  I stayed on I-90 the entire time.  Going through Cleveland was a bit hairy, but not too bad.   I was getting really tired and was glad to get closer to Erie.  I think I arrived at my lodging around 4:45 p.m.  They gave me the

May 28, 2018 (Memorial Day)

Chris prepared a nice breakfast: toast, omelet and sausage.  It was good.  A few hours later two families arrived.  The plans had been for a cookout, but the temperature was in the nineties, so he prepared the food inside and everyone ate inside. pulled pork, hot dogs, sausage, pasta salad, pickles, shrimp and more. Megan had to take Tyler to tutoring in Kalamazoo.  I offered to accompany her, but she discouraged it because it entails her waiting around for about two hours.  I suggested we might do something while Tyler was with his tutor, but since it is Memorial Day, there is little open.  So I stayed at the house and watched the first three episodes of the first season of BROADCHURCH on Netflix.  I also worked on the afghan.

Megan and I watched PATRIOTS DAY and it is a really good movie! Meg made bagel breakfast sandwiches which were delicious. The kids and I  worked on the puzzle all three of us (myself, Cassy and Meg) worked on the afghan. Chis prepared skewered shrimp on the grill for supper.  Later in the evening, Megan, Tyler and I went out to PLAINWELL ICE CREAM where Cassy works.  We each had small cones, which means two different flavors.  It was very good, but not as good as LAKE EFFECT. Megan and I decided to watch a movie and we chose MAMA MIA! I had seen it before, but she hadn't.  We both enjoyed it!!!!!

We had a great breakfast, prepared by Megan and Chris.  After breakfast, Bob said he should hit the road, but Megan said that Christa just texted her and she was on the way, so he decided to stay a while longer. Before anybody left, we took a LOT of pictures.  I did not really want my picture taken with this awful face.  Christa suggested that I put my sunglasses on and that was a great idea.  Anyway, here some of the pictures:                                                  The Keator Family Pic                                         Christa and Megan                                                Christa and her Dad                                Bob and I, our daughters an grandkids the Keators.    I am so happy because after being estranged for MANY years, Bob and Christa have reconnected and it appears that they are both happy with it.  Also, Christa and Megan have been partially estranged for a few years and they have reconnected and it is clear that they

GRADUATION PARTY DAY: May 25, 2018/BLACK FRIDAY

Image
Chris and Megan fixed a good (late) breakfast for all of us...…...eggs, sausage, bacon and home fries...……..Christa arrived as we were finishing up.  Breakfast was great!  Tina and I chopped vegetables and I loaded the dishwasher and Cassy started it while Meg and Christa went to COSTCO to pick up the cake and other stuff.  Cassy and I also worked on the afghan.  I am so pleased that she is interested in this, I thought maybe it would not mean anything to her, but she seems to want to work on it.  Sooooooooooooooooooooo, the day DID start out good! This is a picture of Cassy working on the four generation afghan I called this BLACK FRIDAY because of what happened to me about 20 minutes before Cassy' graduation party was due to start.   I was going out on the back deck with Cassy and I stumbled or missed a step or something and did a flying leap forward and landed on my face, with my head lower than my body (due to the way the long steps are).  I smashed up my face pretty bad

Graduation Day: Thursday May 24, 2018

I got up early (I heard Megan and Chris getting ready to go hunting) and had a shower, and then had a cup of hot chocolate and a banana with peanut butter.  Read a bit in the book LISTENING IS AN ACT OF LOVE  (I am thoroughly enjoying this book and hope to leave it with someone here when I finish it) Megan got a HUGE turkey here it is in the back of the PACIFICA. During the day, Cassandra and I worked on learning how to crochet in order to get the four generation afghan completed Christa planted some flowers for Megan. We all left for graduation a little before seven.  The bleachers were full!   The ceremony was great, and not too terribly long. Here is a picture of Cassandra with her family. We returned to the house and Chris grilled hot dogs and we all sat around the fire pit for a while.

I do not know why but all of a sudden I cannot post new posts in my old blog, so I decided to start a new one. Megan fixed a nice breakfast of French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon for she and I and Mike and Tina. Basically we spent most of the day waiting for Christa to arrive.  While Tyler, Bob and I were playing YAHTZEE, Megan got a message saying she was at her hotel, so we left shortly to pick her up. When we got back to the house with Christa, Megan gave her a tour of the house and we ended up getting out all of the TRADER JOES treats and some items I bought in Shipshewana and we all snacked. Cassy arrived back while we were eating and joined us. A few hours later Chris arrived home from work and started preparing supper: chicken on the grill, and corn on the cob and mac and cheese that Meg prepared ahead of time.  It was very good.  We were all sitting on the back deck talking about movies and Cassy brought up the THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, and then she put it on tv and
