MONDAY: I had a nine thirty appointment at BODY MECHANICS this morning.   My therapist, Mark, had me do several different exercises while there, and told me to continue doing the ones he gave me the other day at home. I went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items.  Then I went to the Y to meet up with Jan.  I noticed that the Red Cross was there, in order to get blood, so I offered to donate blood, but all of the spots are filled up.  Jan was late, so I got on one of the recumbent bikes, right next to Sarah.  Jan arrived and we started walking.  We noticed that they were setting up tables in the gym and Jan thought maybe it was for a CPR class that she had signed up for.  She went down to check and found out that it was.  She said she met Sharon Dent when she was checking and they briefly talked about Jan's sister who died in a fire years ago, along with her husband.  Louise was there also.  Jan went back down to the class, and I walked...

MONDAY:  First thing this morning I did a home COVID test, which showed NEGATIVE.  I emailed my doctors office, and they called me and I was told that I can resume my normal activities.  Carrie returned to her program, so she must be symptom free and most likely they tested her this morning.  I decided to mop my bathroom floor and I cleaned out and straightened the storage area below my vanity/sink.  I called Jan and asked if she wanted to meet me at the Y at 12:30 and she did.  We walked for about 40 minutes.  We both signed up for the April 10th craft class.  It will be painting a bag and making a matching keychain. Before going home, I went to Aldi hoping they had corned beef marked down, but it looked like they had already been snatched up.  I also dropped of several baggies of cookies at the Little Food Pantry behind the Methodist Church.   When I got home, I continued working on my meal for tonight.  After I put the...

Sunday March 19th, 2023 Church at Home, and Irish Soda Bread Muffins

Image
Because of my Covid exposure I did not go to church today.  I watched it online and it was very good.  I worked on getting things ready for tomorrow nights dinner since Peg and David will come over for a modified corn beef and cabbage dinner.  I decided on ham instead of corned beef since I have already had two corned beef dinners this month.  I cut up the carrots, sliced the onions and got the cabbage ready.  Then I decided to make IRISH SODA BREAD MUFFINS.  They are good, but they do not have the same texture as Irish Soda Bread.  This is a TASTE of HOME RECIPE that I found online.  I made my own buttermilk by adding vinegar to milk, and I used raisins.   2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon caraway seeds 1 large egg, room temperature 1 cup buttermilk 1/4 cup butter, melted 1/4 cup canola oil 3/4 cup dried currants or ...

WEEK of Sunday March 12th through Saturday the 18th of March, 2023

SUNDAY: Church was great this morning.  After church, Marlene and I went to APPLEBEE'S for lunch.  We had the two for $26 which consisted of a huge salad, a small steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli.  It was very good even though the mashed potatoes were cold.  We discussed our upcoming trip to Ohio.  Marlene is afraid it is going to be too cold.   MONDAY:  I took my car to BASIL TOYOTA this morning where they did a NYS Inspection and put some sort of "end of winter' additive into the gas tank.  Before going home, I picked up a sub at SUBWAY and I went to Niagara Produce to get bananas, but I ended up getting a small ham, potatoes, carrots and cabbage, eggs and maybe a couple of other items.  When I got home, I had lunch and got ready for my dermatologist appointment.  A HEARTS and HAND volunteer, PAUL, picked me up and took me to Clarence.  That appointment went well, with a few "zaps" and a new script for something to work on...

March 9th, 2023 Appointment with Dr. Danaher and Friday March 10th and Saturday March 11, 2023

Image
3/9/23  I had expected to see Maria a Physicians Assistant, but Dr. Danaher came in (after the nurse had taken my vitals and gone over my medication/supplement list.  Dr. Danaher addressed my concerns and questions. We discussed me having the Prolia injection and now I feel confident that I can make an appointment for a nurses visit in order to have it done at Medwell. I requested a copy of the report that goes with the hip x-ray that I had several months ago.  So, now I have that.  I need to find out which doctor Peggy disliked at the place she went to have her injured wrist looked at.  It starts with E, but I can't recall the name.  After I find that out, I need to call and make an appointment, and take the report as well as the disc with pictures  on it with me when I go.  That x-ray was taken a year ago.   I requested a copy of the results of my last lab work and now I have it.   I now have an order for PHYSICAL THERAPY at ...

SUNDAY March 5th: Church was good today. Fifteen plus kids of all ages were dedicated.   I went to Niagara Produce for a few things before going home.  When I got home, after shoveling part of my sidewalk, I put two baking potatoes in the oven.  I found the movie THE DOLLMAKER and started it, even though I dislike Jane Fonda.   Leslie emailed that she got the package.  I finished watching the movie in the evening.  I realized that I had seen it before, but continued watching it.  Then I found the movie LAMB, not the horror movie, but the Irish movie about the "brother" who left the reform school taking a ten year old boy with him.  MONDAY the 6th of March:   I had a message from Cindi this morning saying that Jen wants she and I to meet up with her for lunch a week from today.  I msg'd back saying I can't do it next Monday and suggested the following Monday 3/20.   I went to WEGMANS and FeelRite to do some shoppi...
