We had breakfast at hotel and it was pretty good.   Then we  packed up and headed towards SUTRU BATHS, using my GPS, we got there fine........we went into the Visitors Center............. I took pics of remains of baths/pools etc. We plugged Fort Bragg into gps, it took us via 101.  I suggested to MA that we reprogram it so that we could drive up 1, along the coast.  This took us to Bodega Bay where we found neat place to eat THE BOAT HOUSE. I had fish tacos, which were very good.  We continued on 1, stopping at a few viewpoints, We  saw Point Arena  Lighthouse.   When we got to Fort Bragg we decided to get gas and groceries and then went to Glass Beach.............we didn't really see any colored glass, but it is a beautiful area. We continued on 1 until it turned into 101, and got to our lodging a little after seven p.m.  The owner gave us directions to the Peg House (an outdoor BBQ place) where ...

David picked me up at 9:15 this morning and drove me to the airport.  I checked my luggage and went through security without any problems and had a bit of a long walk to my terminal, where I had a fairly short wait until boarding time.  My flight to Detroit was on time.  The plane was not full, so I had three seats to myself.  The pilot warned that it would be a turbulent flight due to winds, but it really wasn't. We arrived in Detroit (it was a short flight, about 45 minutes) and I had a long walk to the terminal.  After I found it I walked back a little bit to the LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE where I had a delicious lunch (sirloin steak, steamed broccoli and a nice garden salad).   The steak was perfectly cooked (medium) and it was tender and tasty.  Then I walked back to my terminal to wait for about an hour until boarding time. Flight to SF uneventful...………….watched one movie BREAKING IN and 2 episodes of ABANDONED...…… MA had a bit of difficult...

This morning when I woke up, I had a headache so I decided to stay home from church. However I did go to the church later on because today Peggy and Ben held a joint event CONNEXUS...……….a gathering for the youth group which is called NEXUS and the seniors group which is called CONNECT.  After church, the seniors provided a meal for the "kids".   The church provided drinks, pizza and Chiavetta's chicken and several of the seniors brought a dish to pass. Peggy and I arranged the tables so that each table would have some seniors and some teens.  We did this by having different colored plates for each age group. The event was a lot of fun.  We played a game of matching up slang from the fifties and sixties with slang of today.  The table which made the most matches won vintage candy.  We passed out ice cream sandwiches as people were leaving. Betty picked me up and we headed to Tonawanda to have lunch at a interesting place that she wanted to show me.  THE RIVER GRILL...………….it is right along the Niagara River and it REALLY is a neat spot.  Here are pictures I took: I guess this red palm tree lights up at night...…………... I don't know the significance of this woman in the top of the small lighthouse behind the RIVER GRILL. Betty is enjoying her lunch! After lunch we did some geocaching...……..finding two out of three that we looked for. We headed towards PAULA'S DONUTS but got sidetracked when I noticed we drove through the intersection with Military Road and I suggested we might go to the FASHION OUTLETS to the Vera Bradley Store. We were MILES away from it and had to stop and ask directions, but we finally got there.  I also went into the SKETCHERS store, but did not find a pair of sneakers that worked for me.  In the Vera Bradley store I found a travel organizer at a very good price. Betty picked me up and we headed to the Royalton Ravine.  Once there, we chose the red trail.  It was not an easy hike...………..there are tons of huge tree roots, uphill and downhill areas and a rickety, swaying bridge. I cannot say we were thrilled with our grilled cheese sandwiches but the sweet potato fries were very good, and the service was good.  Then we walked on Main Street a bit....

Early this morning, Betty called me and asked me what I was planning on doing tonight.  I told her that I was thinking about going to the library for the program about owls.  She said that was why she was calling, so we agreed that she would pick me up at six p.m. I went to the Tuesday morning LIFEGROUP at FAITH TAB.  Then I went home and had lunch and a nap.  I worked on trip plans until Betty picked me up a few minutes before six p.m.   Bonnie Burnett was there with her sister.  Crystal Cleri was there with her daughter, Jen.  The girl sitting next to me introduced herself and told me about BUFFALO and WNY NATURE PHOTOGRAPHERS on Facebook after she heard Bonnie compliment me on my pictures of Letchworth that I posted on FB several days ago. The program was great!  The presenter introduced the audience (I think every chair was filled) to Zelda, an 18 month old screech owl who was rescued after she was hit by a car. Today was the LIFE GROUP FAIR as well as a the Spaghetti Lunch & Basket Raffle, both events were after church. After church I "hosted" Peggy's registration table for her upcoming LIFE GROUP, which starts on 9/27, because Peggy was busy getting ready for the spaghetti dinner.  I was happy to sign up several people, mostly NEW people!  Then I met up with Peg, David, Becky and Betty in the youth sanctuary for the dinner. The spaghetti was VERY good, it came with a salad, bread and butter, drink and desert for only $10.00.  I ate first and then I purchased forty dollars worth of tickets.  Normally, I do not spend that much at basket raffles, but this was for Faith Tabs mission to Mexico, and Peggy will be going.
