I didn't make it to the nine a.m. service this morning where LAW ENFORCEMENT was honored, so I went to the eleven a.m. service.    Before church I went to WalMart and picked up a few items.  After church, I spent a few hours getting ready for the trip to Letchworth.  I talked to Leslie on the phone about our trip which starts tomorrow.  I called Mike Keator and set up a day and time to meet halfway, since Tyler will ride with Marlene and I when we go to Michigan at the end of June.

I puttered around the house in the morning, changing my sheets, doing laundry, and generally straightening up. Peg came over late morning and she and worked on straightening out the basement, and putting together a bunch of stuff to go to the GOOD WILL, as well as throwing out a lot of stuff. By the time she left it was going on four p.m. I called Leslie and suggested that after our Letchworth trip she might come to Lockport for a couple of days since she would be half way here already. Unfortunately, she made a commitment to help serve "meals with wheels" at the senior meal center in the building she lives in. I decided to go to Niagara Produce to get some watermelon, since I had been craving it for a day or two.  I ran into Betty there and she and I decided to go to the nine a.m. service tomorrow since we will be honoring law enforcement at that time.  Then I went to LOCKPORT CARES HOMELESS SHELTER because they were having a food truck event.  I purchased a ...

FRIDAY, May 21, 2021 Out and About with Paula

Paula and I met up at Outwater Park and walked for about a forty minutes, with a few "lets sit on this bench" breaks.  We noticed that a new small BBQ restaurant will be opening soon in the building across from where the ice skating rink was years ago.  I think the name of it will be BABY RIBS.  Then we went to SUB DELICIOUS on 31 for lunch.  As usual, only one person was working. We waited about a half hour for our food after we ordered.   I had a meal deal including a drink, six inch sub and fries. The sub was pretty good!  I treated Paula to a burger and a hot dog.  Then I went to AAA and picked up a tourist booklet about Letchworth State Park and a new FINGER LAKES regional map.  The FL map I gave Leslie last year has fallen apart and she needs a new one.  Unfortunately for her, the closest AAA to Auburn is in Syracuse.  What a bummer.  In the evening, I talked with Louise, Myrna and Sheila on the phone.  I chatt...

Thursday, May 20th, 2021 LIFE GROUP and More

I met Betty over at BEAUMAN's GARAGE where I left my car for a "trip check".  Betty picked me up there and we went to FREEDOM CHURCH for the Life Group.  Present today were Sue, Peggy, Betty and me.  The meeting was very good.   We stopped early and went downstairs so Peggy could heat up some leftover pizza and wings (from the staff training yesterday).  We gathered in the hospitality room to have lunch and to share the small birthday cake I provided for Sue.  Sue also brought nutty buddies.  When we finished up, Betty took me back to Beauman's and my car was ready when I got there.  They replaced the rear window washer blade.   I rested for a couple of hours in the afternoon and then I went to the library to read the current local newspapers. I called Paula to see if she still wanted to go for a hike tomorrow and she said yes.  She will pick me up at 11:30 a.m. and we will decide to go either out to the swamp (refuge) or...

I slept great last night.  I decided to go to QUEST to pick up what I need for the stool sample, and then continued out the Transit (which was terribly busy) and went to Old Navy ( where I didn't see a single thing I liked) and Wegmans.  I purchased a really neat PIZZA CRISPER pan (round with small holes in it) and some heavy duty shopping bags, finishing up the gift card that Carrie sent me at Christmas.   I bought some gluten free and lactose free groceries.  I also purchased a small birthday cake to take to Life Group tomorrow so we can celebrate Sue's birthday.   Several people in Wegman's were NOT wearing masks today. When I got home around 2:30 I used a gluten free pizza crust to make a pizza using my new pan, with lactose free Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, chicken and chopped green pepper and a bit of spaghetti sauce.  It turned out pretty good!  After I finished lunch (only one piece of this pizza), all of a sudden I felt very ti...

WHAT A DAY!!!!   I woke up with diarrhea, like I do many days.  However, other days it only lasted a short while.  Today it lasted all morning and into the afternoon preventing me from attending the Ladies Life Group at Freedom Church.   When I was not in the bathroom, I was on the living room couch watching my new ROKU TV.  I finished watching THE CLIENT, which I had seen before and watched some other stuff including a few episodes of I SURVIVED.   Peg brought me some gatorade and Pepto Bismol.  Betty brought me a spaghetti dinner from SOLID ROCK Church, but I will save it for tomorrow. I tried to get in to see Dr. Chubineh this afternoon, but he was fully booked and he wants me to have ANOTHER colonoscopy, but I am going to try to avoid that by eliminating some more foods.

Monday, May 17th, 2021 Spring Lake

I called Pam this morning and asked her if she would like to go to Spring Lake Winery and walk the trail around the lake.  She agreed and we met at the Rochester Road TOPS and then rode in my car.  Spring Lake Winery was kind of dead, but we did see one worker walking around.  The building was open and we used the ladies room there.   I went to Niagara Produce before going home.  While I was eating lunch, the new bath lift arrived, so I took the old one out and put the new one together and into the tub.   Off and on, I watched the latest season of  GREENLEAF. Peg called and told me that Yolanda told her that Lydia Santiago passed away.  Yolanda has a friend who lives in Lydia's building who updated her.  Between the two of us (Peg and I) we tried to find out more.  I located her daughters name and number, but her daughter is deaf and needs to use TTY equipment, so I didn't call her.  However, knowing her name made it...
