Thursday, September 16th

First thing in the morning, I made up some egg salad so I could make an egg salad sandwich for my lunch. I spent considerable time in the morning completing my SNAP application.  I was hoping the mailman would deliver the statement I requested from Eastern Niagara Hospital that I requested.  He did deliver it, but it did not show the amount I paid, which is the info I need.  So, I called the hospital and talked to someone in BILLING and she agreed to make up a new statement and leave it at the front desk for me to pick up. I met up with the "lunch girls", girls I graduated from high school with, at Day Road Park.  It was me, Elaine, Barb, Liz and Bonnie and her sister, Terry.  Bonnie brought a large piece of homemade German chocolate bundt cake to share.  It was delicious.  We had a nice visit. I picked up the document from ENH but it really did not say that I paid anything towards the HUGE bill, so I went home and found the cancelled check, made a cop...

I had my annual physical with Dr. Danaher this morning at eight thirty.  My appointment went very well.  It took about a full hour.  I had an EKG.  Dr. Danaher agreed to let me try a prescription med to help me sleep.  It was called into Rite Aid, but I have not picked it up yet.  I plan to do so tomorrow. I spent the rest of the morning working on making copies of medical bills for my SNAP application, which I hope to deliver to the downtown office tomorrow morning, if the copy of the bill for one of my endoscopy's arrives from ENH in time for me to do that.   Peggy called around noon and we talked for a while.  She visited Robyn Brown in the hospital, and also visited Loretta Brown, who broke bones in both of her feet and is recovering at home.  We discussed the idea of going to the turkey dinner at the stone school in Hartland and possibly the basket raffle at Odd Fellows on Saturday.   I napped in the afternoon and li...

September 14, 2021 Life Group and More

LIFE GROUP was poorly attended this morning, but it was very good.  I left at 12:05 while they were still discussing something because I had a one p.m. appointment with a SPECTRUM technician here at my house in order to have a new modem installed.  I stopped at SUBWAY and picked up a tuna sub nd also at Rite Aid where I picked up two prescriptions.  I got home a couple of minutes after 12:30 and the SPECTRUM guy was already here.  I think he just got here.   A few minutes after he got here, I got a call from WATTS ELECTRIC asking if it was a good time to stop by.  The WATTS technician (Mike) was already in my driveway.  He wanted to come in and look around and take measurements etc. for a GENERAC generator system.  So both technicians were here at the same time. Regarding SPECTRUM, the modem that was delivered to me a couple of days ago is outdated (GO FIGURE) so the technician got a new one of his truck and installed it.  He recom...

September 13, 2021 Day Trip to Niagara Falls via DISCOVER NIAGARA SHUTTLE

Image
Today was the day!!!!   Betty, Ann, Lori, Vicky and I met up at the Erie Canal Discovery Center in order to catch the DISCOVER NIAGARA SHUTTLE to Niagara Falls. I found this painted rock while we were waiting.  Our shuttle was scheduled to arrive at 9:45 a.m. but was 45 minutes late.  Turns out it was this particular drivers first day doing the LOCKPORT ROUTE.  Then he was driving really slow and missed a turn so it took longer than it should have to get to our stop in Niagara Falls.  He talked non-stop all the way there.  Anyways, we finally got there, losing more than an hours time due to the driver.  Before getting off in NF, I asked him if he would be on time for the three p.m. pick up and he said he would be caught up by then. We walked to NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK and bought trolley tickets.  We had a nice time in the park, going to the lookout for the HORSESHOE FALLS.  We decided to have lunch at the RED COACH INN even tho...

I started watching this movie in the morning, but was unable to finish it before church.  It is based on true events, about a very abused child.  The movie is excellent.    Church was very good.  The message seemed to mostly be about ENCOURAGING OTHERS.  Betty did not show up, so I was kind of worried about her.  After church, I went to Niagara Produce.  I have been without milk for about three days.   I worked some on my SNAP recertification application in the afternoon, did a load of laundry and found another movie to watch.   It is pretty good.   I called Myrna in the evening and we talked for quite a while.

I had heard about the FREEDOM TRUCK PARADE put on by Heinrich's Chevrolet but had a hard time getting any concrete information about the exact route.   Heinrich's did not do a good job of getting the word out.  Anyways, when I told Peggy what I knew, she decided to come over and get me so we could go together.  We drove to Outwater Park where I had heard that it was starting and the trucks were lined up.  When they started moving, we left and drove to a side street to park so we could watch it.  Somebody handed Peg a flag and she stood there waving it while I  took pictures.   When most of the trucks had gone by, Peggy suggested we join in, so we got on the end of the parade.  Of course, Peg's small electric car is NOT a truck .  No matter, we had fun driving up Transit, with the horn honking, waving to people on the sidewalk.  We met this patriotic family at Heinrichs. We parked in Heinrich's parking lot and walked aroun...

9/10/21

Peggy held a meeting of her CONNECT Team this morning.  It was Dee, Betty, Peg and I.   Jim and Elaine DeWeen did not show up.  I don't think Peggy was very satisfied with the results.  We kept getting sidetracked and did not give much (if any) time to the issues Peg brought up.   After I left at 11:30, I went to Cusimano's and used a coupon to get a Beef on Weck, drink and fries for seven dollars because there was not much time to go home and prepare lunch before I had to head to Lewiston to meet up with Carrie and Sue for Carrie's appointment at Nelsons.   I went to TOPS to mail something and then stopped at Rite Aid hoping my Viberzi script was filled.  It has not come in yet.   I an really glad  that I ran home when I only had five to ten extra minutes to spare, for the express purpose of checking messages because I got the message from Sue that the appointment had to be rescheduled, in time to prevent me from dr...
