THURSDAY, March 31st, 2022 Outing With Jan and Maggie

Image
THURSDAY:  After my early morning appointment with Dr. Kurbs, I went home and called Jan and asked her if we were still "on" for going to Wilson to THE COOKIE COTTAGE.   She said yes and asked if Maggie might accompany us.  I agreed and suggested that she and Maggie drive over to my house and I would drive.  When they arrived, it was raining hard and the wind was blowing, so I invited them inside to wait a few minutes and see if the weather might improve.   It did get better after a few minutes and we headed out. We found THE COOKIE COTTAGE and we all purchased cookies.  We sat on a bench outside of the store and ate them.  Then we headed back, driving on 18 all the way to Olcott.  We stopped at the overlook/parking area at the east end.   I told Maggie and Jan that the way I remember it, from when I was a kid, it was the parking area for the beach with a path or stairs down to the water on the west end of the parking area.  Maggie remembers it that way, too.  She is the on

MONDAY: First thing this morning I baked a half a batch of chocolate chip cookies to take to Peggy's house tonight when I will join her and David for supper.  They had time to cool before I had to leave for the Ladies Life Group.  On the way, I stopped at Betty's place and picked up her mail and checked on her car.   The LIFE GROUP went great!!!  I am thoroughly enjoying it.  Peggy brought down a pile of fliers for this coming Sunday's CONNECT GROUP gathering after church.  It is called GRUB and GAMES.  I passed them out and collected the signed forms to take up to Peg at the end of the meeting, but she came down and I gave them to her.  A bunch of us decided to meet up at Wendy's for lunch.  Glenda and I arrived first and snatched one of the round tables in the back.  Eventually, several others arrived and joined us.  I was finished with my meal before several of them arrived.  On my way home, I stopped at Rite Aid and picked up my prescription for Viberzi.  FINALLY.

SUNDAY March 27th, 2022 and Monday March 28th 2022

SUNDAY  I know I SHOULD have put at least one of my cars in the garage last night, but I was lazy, and also, I was telling myself that it would only be an inch or two and there would be no need.  When I got up this morning and looked outside, I knew I was wrong.   I cleaned the Subaru off somewhat and them moved it to the other driveway.  It continued to snow, so I called Maggie and told her that I was not going to church today.   I cleaned my new car off somewhat and after locating the garage door opener, I put it in the garage.  It continued to snow, so I felt that I had made the right decision about staying home.  I decided to change the sheets on my bed since it has been a couple of weeks.   A few minutes before eleven a.m. I found FREEDOMS live church service online.  The service was very good.  Peg called to make sure I was OK, since I did not show up in church.   I decided to vacuum my bedroom and when I moved the bed a bit, I noticed how dirty it was at the top end, sos I pulle

I tried out the new "mouse" that I bought at TARGET yesterday and found that it does not work.  I will return it .  Then I went to Dr. Fetterman's office and had the laser surgery done on my left eye.  It went quickly and well.  It is still blurry, and I am anxious to experience the results. When I got home, I went upstairs to see what all is in the freezer since Peggy is looking for someone to come and get it.  I took out a few items including some split pea with ham soup.   I called Marlene and asked her to come for supper tonight and she said yes, she will come at six p.m.  I made Lynette's Pea Salad, at least I think I did since I could not find the recipe,  We will have the soup, the salad, crackers and cheese and baked custard for desert.   I started to watch Season Two of BRIDGERTON on Netflix.  Marlene and I had a nice meal together.  Unfortunately, she left her wallet here.  I did not notice it since I did not clean the kitchen and dining area right away aft

Thursday, March 24th , 2022 Chiro. and Dr. Wirth, Ordered a New Camera on Ebay

Image
I got up somewhat earlier than usual in order to be at Dr. Kurbs office for my second appointment of the week.  It went well.  Then I went home and I ordered a camera on ebay, one that I found early this morning.  It is not the exact same model I have, I think it might be a bit newer model, brand new and still in its box, and coming from Niagara Falls, NY.   There were many others available, but they were not new and mostly were in other countries.  The price I am paying, over two hundred dollars is more than I wanted to pay and probably more than it sold for in stores, but I think it is exactly what I want in order to replace the NIKON COOLPIX that I have now which has become increasingly hard to charge.  I think it may be my fault, I may have misplaced the original CORRECT charger that came with the camera and used something wrong.  I have no idea how I would have misplaced the one that came with the camera.   I headed out to Dr. Wirth's office to have the stitches taken out of

I read some in the manual for my new car before going to the Ladies Life Group at FREEDOM CHURCH. Before leaving the house in my new car, I tried to find the MAP button for the navigation system.  I got the ON STAR or whatever the name of it is, and a woman offered to help me.  I told her I pressed the wrong button but I asked her if she could help me find the MAP button and she said I would have to press the SOS button in order to get that kind of help.  I could not find the SOS button, but my situation was not actually an SOS situation, so I skipped it and headed over to church.    There were thirteen of us there, and it went very well.   Betty, Dee, me, Cindi, Karen, Elaine, Glenda. Cindi is well organized and leads well.  We went a few minutes over, and then seven of us decided to go to THE FIELDSTONE for lunch.  I had the soup and salad bar again.   I don't remember who took this picture that Elaine posted on her FB page. I sat across from Dee, who lives next door to Cindi,

I picked Maggie up for church.  The sermon today was wonderful!  Pastor Craig talked briefly about his visit with Myrna, and how uplifting it was.  After church, Betty and I, Maggie and Jan went to THE OLIVE LEAF for lunch.  I had a burger and fries.  Then I went to Rite Aid and picked up the new bottle of eye drops that I will need after the right eye laser surgery next Friday morning. I took a nap, I may have slept a full hour.  That was good since I did not sleep all tht well last night.  When I got up I had a light supper and finished off the Ben an Jerry's NETFLIX and CHILLz  Lactose free ice cream, but of course it is not really ice cream.  But it is pretty good.   I started watching the first episode of the new season of CALL THE MIDWIFE.  Betty called and wanted help with homework for Tuesday's Bible study.  I called her back after MIDWIFE, but by then she had figured most of it out. Christa had message me on FB and recommended two shows.  I found PIECES OF HER on netf

FRIDAY: First thing today, I met with Kevin Kopek at NorthWest Bank, and I signed some papers in order to move some money from my American National Account to the Symmetra account that I inherited from Mary Anne. This is the money from the sale of the house I owned in West Laurens, after I paid cash for my Subaru,  It was around thirty thousand dollars at the time,  Kevin said it was yielding one percent and will do better in Symettra.  I went to the library after that and picked up two books they were holding for me.  Then I went home for a bit before going to Dr. Fetterman for an eye check.   Since my last visit there two weeks ago, the mandate for wearing masks has been eliminated!!!!  He checked my right eye with regards to the laser surgery he did last week.  I scheduled for the left eye for next Friday.  Then I went home for a bit.  Betty picked me up at noon and we had lunch at Burger King and then she dropped me off at BASIL TOYOTA and I picked my new car up.   Zach went over s

I had to get up pretty early in order to get to Dr. Paul Wirth's office, just north of Williamsville for my procedure/surgery:  cutting out some squamous cells in my nose.  I got a tiny bit nervous because I thought I passed Sheridan Drive (where I was supposed to turn right off of Transit) so I pulled over into a parking lot and put my Navigator on and found out that I had not passed it.  The Navigator took me where I was going by a different route than I had planned, but it worked well, and I arrived about ten minutes before my seven-a.m. appointment.  Dr. Wirth is very pleasant, and he explained things well, and the procedure went well.  The only pain was when the anesthesia was administered via needle.  It does hurt pretty bad, but it is only a few seconds.  He kept apologizing.  Then he took whatever he took out to the lab and inspected it and came back to give me the verdict.   I think he said "it could not have gone better" and that he got it all and would "g

I worked on uploading pictures from the 1997 trip to the Magic Kingdom that Peggy, Christa, Megan and I had.  I checked online and saw that the movie DOG is still at the Regal on Transit, so I called Betty to see if she wanted to go.  She had mentioned that she wanted to see the movie a few weeks ago.  We agreed to go to the 1:45 showing and to go to lunch before the movie.  She picked me up a little before 11:30 a.m. First, we went to Peggy's house and I took care of Petra, and then to Key Bank so Betty could get some cash out of the ATM.   Then we drove to CRACKER BARREL for lunch.  There were a LOT of cars in the parking lot and I thought we might be told there was a very long wait, but we were told it would only be fifteen minutes so we decided to stay.  We looked around in the large gift shop until we were called to our table.  I chose the ham with broccoli and coleslaw.  We were given biscuits and corn muffins.  I was unable to finish all of my ham.   Then we headed back nor

MONDAY:  I did not sleep well last night, it felt like I was awake all night long, but I must have dozed off a few times. I had to get up early to get to Dr. Kurb's office as close to eight a.m. as I could.   First thing today I went to Dr. Kurbs office and had a spinal adjustment.  Then I went home for a bit.  While there I called Mike, the financial guy at BASIL TOYOTA.  I could not reach him, but I left a message. I want a price on a lower deductible warranty.  Then I headed to Lewiston to meet up with Carrie and Sue in order to go to a medical appointment.  The appointment went well. When I got home, I tried to reach Mike again.  I also spoke to Heather Calderone, my insurance agent, and the addition of the new car has been added to my policy, and she emailed me the insurance cards, as well as a list of other stuff she needs.  I printed out the cards.  I will call Zach in the morning and hopefully I can take the cards over tomorrow after I finish up with my meeting with Kevin K

Day Trip to Middleville, Ohio Amish Area with SCENIC NIAGARA (Saturday March 12, 2022) and Sunday March 13th

The weather was not all that good with freezing rain and winds predicted for today, so I called the bus company first thing after I got up and Maria answered and said the trip was NOT cancelled. I took care of Petra really early today and then met up with Marlene at FREEDOM CHURCH and we headed out towards Eastern Hills Mall where we met up with our bus.  The first thing we were told when we got on the bus was that we HAD to wear masks all the time while on the bus.  I noticed that this requirement kind of faded away as time went on. On the bus we introduced ourselves to Joan Meyer and the three of us hung out together during much the trip.  The drive down went smoothly with one stop for a bathroom and snacks. I bought a banana which I thought I might want for the drive back to New York at the end of the day. The bus also had a second pick up spot at a TOPS, I am not exactly sure where that was, and then we got on the thruway and headed to Ohio.  When we got to the Amish area, we stop

WEDNESDAY:   I did not get a lot of sleep last night.  I got up earlier than usual and got ready for the day and decided to pick up some groceries before going over to take care of Petra.   After feeding her, I went to Rite Aid to pick up my prescription for Pantoprazole.  The weird thing is that when I called and requested it through the automated system, I was told it would be ready yesterday but when I arrived and requested it I was told I would have to wait a few minutes since it was not counted out.  Anyways, I waited and got it and then went to Aldi's.  I found almost everything I needed  including these socks which were very inexpensive  Aldi's did not have any  CRISCO, so I had to go to WalMart where I found it and a few other items.  On the way home, I mailed out my vouchers with checks enclosed to the Fed and State, since I had to pay both this year.   I tried to nap but I was not successful.  I got up and did a few things before it was time to go to Elaine's hous
